The Asian Cup enters its quarterfinal stage with 8 teams remaining. These are :
1. Iraq
2. Australia
3. Japan
4. Qatar
5. Jordan
6. Uzbekistan
7. Iran
8. South Korea
Defending champion Iraq will face Australia in the quarterfinals. Japan and Qatar will battle it out for a spot in the semifinals. Jordan and Uzbekistan will do the same. South Korea will play against Iran to complete the cast for the final four.
Japan and South Korea should post easy victories over their opponents based on their performances so far. The match between Iraq and Australia promises to be the most exciting in the quarterfinals. It will be a toss-up between Jordan and Uzbekistan as both teams are capable of pulling off surprises.
While I still believe that Japan and South Korea will eventually face each other for the crown, it is still anybody's guess as to who will ultimately be crowned champion. I simply cannot wait for the quarterfinals to begin and see which country is the best in Asian football.
