OPEN LETTER TO FIVB AND AVC OFFICIAL SHANRIT WONGPRASERT

courtesy of sports.inquirer.net

Dear Mr. Shanrit Wongprasert,

Greetings from the Philippines.

I am extremely disappointed that you allow yourself to be used to validate the very existence of Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI). You were quoted by Philippine media saying that Philippine volleyball has progressed through LVPI. With all due respect, just what progress are you referring to ? Do you call the formation of national teams through phone calls at the airport "progress" ?

You have built a good reputation through the years with what you did and continue to do with volleyball in Thailand. From being perennial losers to the Philippines in SEAG, you have managed to put Thailand at 13th best in the world. So I am really surprised that you seem not to know the meaning of the word "progress" when applied to Philippine volleyball.

Please protect your good name by distancing yourself from LVPI and its people. You know very well that FIVB itself is being put in a spot with the acceptance of LVPI as a member. You know very well that you are having a hard time answering the letter I sent you last Dec. 3, 2015. So hard a time, in fact, that you deem it best not to send a response.

Filipino sports officials are the worst in the world. Even your good friend, FIVB Development Commission officer Tats Suzara was ordered by the Bureau of Immigrations (BID) to pay more than half a million pesos for violating immigration laws with his Philippine Superliga.

Please do not allow these unscrupulous sports officials to tarnish your good name and bring you to perdition.

Thank you.

Eric

THE CONNIVANCE BETWEEN FIVB AND LVPI REVEALED

Dear readers,

I wish to present to you solid proof that there was a horrendous connivance between FIVB and the new Philippine volleyball federation, Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI).

FIVB imposed a requirement for LVPI before it can be granted full recognition. That is, LVPI must first pay to FIVB the sum of eighty - thousand dollars. See http://www.philstar.com/sports/2015/03/25/1437454/volleyball-row-over-lvpi-set-be-recognized-fivb

The deadline for LVPI to settle the payment was set on April 30, 2015.

LVPI presented to AVC and FIVB the Bank Transfer below as proof of payment of LVPI. The said bank transfer was also presented to media in the Philippines. The bank transfer is shown below.

But an email of FIVB 2nd Executive Vice-President Andre Meyer says that LVPI did not pay on April 30, 2015.

André Meyer ameyer@cev.lu

to me

Dear Eric,
I checked to-day with the finance department, the amount of USD 80 000 had not yet been registered in any account.
Best rgards

Instead, LVPI paid on May 14, 2015, as confirmed by Meyer as well.

André Meyer ameyer@cev.lu

May 15
to me

Dear Eric
Yes I can confirm your membership. The money had arrived yesterday on the FIVB bank account.
I wish you all the best in the future. Hope to see you soon.
Best regards
André

What reeks of connivance between FIVB and LVPI is the letter from FIVB signed by Graca saying that LVPI has been accepted as a member on May 11, 2015. We have to take note that the May 12 indicated on the letter is actually May 11 Manila time.

So why was LVPI accepted as a member when it has yet to fulfill the requirement set by FIVB ? Why was FIVB too eager to accept LVPI as a new member when the payment of the eighty - thousand dollars has not been made to FIVB at the time of LVPI's membership ?

If that is not highly irregular and a form of connivance, I don't know what is.

LVPI, ITS HORDE OF SPORTS WRITERS AND THE TRUTH

courtesy of en.wikipedia.org

"You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. - Matthew 5:13

I am sure that people from LVPI know by now what I did. But interestingly enough, no one from their horde of sports writers dare to write about it. Unlike before when just about every move I make much is written. Now there is deafening silence among the servile writers of LVPI.

The problem with LVPI officials and their writers is that they think that they can suppress the truth and get away with it. They think that they can contain the truth and sell their lies to the Filipino people. But in this day and age, the world has become smaller with the advent of the computer and internet. Information can be verified and immediately passed on from one country to another. And once true information finds its way to people, action can take place. And once people act accordingly, the suppressors of truth will be unmasked, judged and made to face the consequences.

In the end, it is still best to tell the truth. No one can go wrong with the truth. And more importantly, it is best to reveal, protect and use the truth to ensure that good triumphs over evil.

WHY PVF SUPPORTERS WILL NOT BE DEFEATED

courtesy of en.wikipedia.org
It was a year ago when Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) decided to dip its fingers in the affairs of Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF). It was a year ago when POC Vice-President Joey Romasanta fed lies to Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and managed to bring down PVF. With the help of FIVB man Tats Suzara, Romasanta installed Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) as the new volleyball federation with himself naturally as president.

Admittedly, support for PVF has decreased through time. The long wait for some form of good news on the case certainly frustrated a lot of PVF supporters.

But a lot more PVF supporters and yours truly remain firm with our support for the following reasons :

1. We have truth on our side. PVF has not resorted to peddling lies to achieve any of its goals.

2. There is integrity in supporting PVF. Our support shows our love for justice, fair play and the truth. We support PVF because of these lofty ideals.

3. We can face anyone at anytime and proudly proclaim our support. There is nothing to be ashamed of in supporting an aggrieved national federation.

4. The people behind PVF are credible and noble. These people have done so much for Philippine volleyball and are not in it for the money. The officers of PVF have not been involved in graft and corruption cases unlike the people behind LVPI.

5. International sports organizations will definitely side with PVF once the truth is revealed to them. There is simply no valid reason for the very existence of LVPI.

Thus, we remain resolute with our support for PVF. We remain committed to uphold justice, fair play and true welfare of Philippine volleyball.

We shall overcome !

LVPI PRESIDENT JOEY ROMASANTA AT BAYARANG MEDIA : NASAAN ANG KAGITINGAN ?

courtesy of psr.com

 http://thefirstplacefinish.blogspot.com/2015/11/lvpi-president-joey-romasanta-at.html

courtesy of zubeezone.com

Wow, Fantastic Baby.

BOYCOTT PHILIPPINE SUPERLIGA AS IT VIOLATES AN IMMIGRATION LAW

Philippine Superliga (PSL) violated an immigration law and paid Php 600,000.00 to Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) for the violation.

No less than BID Commisioner Siegfred Mison ordered PSL to pay Php 600,000.00 for allowing its imports to play in the Grand Prix without the necessary work permit. The order was released October 28, 2015.

The violation of PSL speaks volumes of the character of the officials and people making up PSL. It is impossible for these people not to know that they have to first secure the necessary special work permit for their imports from BID before allowing their imports to play. Perhaps, these people are so sure that no one would investigate and dig up the status of their imports. That they will simply get way with it. Too bad that someone actually investigated the issue and dug up vital documents.

With this total disrespect for the law, PSL must be taught a lesson. And what better way than to boycott the league. It is time to teach PSL that it does not pay to circumvent the law. Time to put a stop to the illegal ways of PSL.

BOYCOTT.

THE PHILIPPINE STAR, LVPI AND THE TRUTH

courtesy of lookitsaboutme.com
The Philippine Star releases a special volleyball supplement for its November 21, 2015 issue. Clearly, the supplement is a cheap trick to promote Larong Volleyball Sa Pilipinas (LVPI) and its inept officials.

The Philippine Star has the audacity to insinuate that the Philippine Volleyball Federation has been remiss in its duty to send teams to the SEA Games in the last 10 years. The truth of the matter is, the officials that The Philippine Star is praising to high heavens are the ones who prevented the volleyball teams from participating in the SEA Games. It is a great disservice to the players and PVF to say that PVF did not assemble teams for the SEA Games in the last 10 years. The officials of Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), who are now LVPI officials, were the ones who prevented the volleyball teams from participating.

Likewise, The Philippine Star has the nerve to feature the statements of LVPI officials that highlight its national program for volleyball. People have seen how LVPI assembled a national team through phone calls. People know that LVPI has come up with a national team at the last minute at the airport. People know how LVPI did away with try-outs to form national teams. Never in the history of Philippine sports has a national team been formed at the airport at the last minute through phone calls and without try-outs. The Philippine Star conveniently forgets all these.

The Philippine Star has the responsibility to tell the truth. Sadly, it has abandoned such responsibility in writing about LVPI, its officials and volleyball, in general. Ironically, the tagline of The Philippine Star is "Truth Shall Prevail". How can it prevail when the paper itself conceals the truth ?

TATS SUZARA AND HIS LETTER TO GAMES AND AMUSEMENTS BOARD

courtesy of sports.abs-cbn.com
Games and Amusements Board (GAB) requested Philippine Super Liga (PSL) to secure the necessary permit and licenses for a professional league last year. The request was made as GAB came into the conclusion that PSL is a professional league.

GAB defines professional sport as "understood to mean an individual or team sport wherein the participant athlete is paid sums of money and other forms of compensation as regular salary or prizes for participation in games, contests, bouts or tournaments which are conducted under permits duly issued by the Gamesand Amusements Board". A professional athlete, on the other hand, "refers to a person who is paid a sum of money and other compensation as a salary or prize money for participating in a game, bout, tournament or contest of a professional sport, either as an individual contestant or member of a team under a contract entered into with a professional sports promoter or team owner and whether licensed or not by the Games and Amusements Board".

PSL refused to get the necessary permit and licenses from GAB as it stood firm in its belief that it is not a professional league. Below is Tats Suzara's letter of explanation to GAB :

Are the statements of Tats Suzara true ?

THE SHAMEFUL DISPLAY OF POWER AND INFLUENCE OF TATS SUZARA

courtesy of sports.abs-cbn.com

Once again, Sportscore Event Management President and AVC Development and Marketing Committee Chairman Tats Suzara displays his great power and influence. Through his efforts, Suzara has installed volleyball non - entity  LVPI President Joey Romasanta as AVC Board Member. Despite the lack of knowledge on volleyball, Romasanta now occupies a powerful position in the AVC hierarchy.

Instead of being proud of placing Romasanta in AVC, Suzara should be ashamed for his latest show of influence. Instead of putting an accomplished Filipino volleyball personality in AVC, Suzara chose someone whose best qualification is being the president of a Philippine volleyball organization that is currently involved in a court case.

If Suzara thinks his latest display of power and influence will draw awe and admiration from the Filipino people, he is terribly mistaken. His latest caper only shows his true nature of putting unqualified people in position to protect his selfish interests.

MINSA'Y ISANG GAMU-GAMO

PRAYERS FOR PHILIPPINE VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION AND PHILIPPINE VOLLEYBALL

courtesy of chicagobiblefellowship.org
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. - Mark 11:24

I have seen how Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) worked hard to get the best lawyers in the country to handle its case against Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas (LVPI). I have seen how Atty. Roy presented excellent oral arguments for PVF aided by Atty Corpuz. Now, it is all up to the judge to render a decision. A decision that will greatly affect the state of volleyball in the country.

As our groups await the decision, I ask every member of the different groups to simultaneously say a prayer for a favorable decision for PVF at the soonest possible time. I ask members of VolleyNewsPH, Philippine Volleyball Central, ASEAN Volleyball Community and Philippine Volleyball Community  to say a short prayer for PVF on October 21, 2015 at exactly 7:00 pm. In prayers, we will be one despite the great distance between us. With our prayers, we acknowledge the mighty hand of God. All for the glory of God. All in Jesus' name. Amen.

LARONG VOLLEYBALL SA PILIPINAS DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICE

courtesy of tiebreakertimes.com
I was in the PhilSports Complex to interview an executive of an NSA. While waiting for the NSA executive to arrive, I decided to look for the office of Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas (LVPI). I wanted to see for myself its office and ask about the true status of Ricky Palou.

I searched all the floors of the building but could not find the office of LVPI. Tired and short of giving up, I asked the property division for directions. Surprisingly, I was told initially that such an NSA does not hold office in the building. I asked the personnel if she was sure. She proceeded to look for LVPI's folder. Only then did she find out where the LVPI office was . She told me to go to the third floor where the POC holds office.

In short, LVPI does not have its own office and simply calls the POC office as its own.

What kind of an NSA is LVPI ? My guess starts with the letter "b" and ends with the letter "s".

O, ANO NGAYON ?

courtesy of sg.sports.yahoo.com

courtesy of pba-online.net

courtesy of sg.,sports.yahoo.com

PSL
1. Petron
2. Cignal
3. Meralco-DLSU
4. Philips Gold
5. RC COLA-Army

Shakeys VLeague
1. KIA Motors
2. Philippine Army
3. UP Diliman
4. PLDT Home Ultera
5. Philippine Navy
6. Coast Guard

2015 PHILIPPINE VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION NATIONAL OPEN : BACK WITH A BIG BANG

courtesy of en.wikipedia.org

The 2015 Philippine Volleyball Federation (PVF) National Open is back with a big bang.

The 2015 PVF National Open starts its week-long run this October 7, 2015 at Cantada Sports Center in Taguig City. With a total of 18 teams competing for both men and women, this year's National Open is the biggest in PVF history. With teams coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, this year's edition is by far the most nationwide tournament for volleyball in the country today.

To even out the highly competitive atmosphere of the tournament, players and team officials will be treated to a festive welcome dinner on opening day. Hostilities officially begin on October 8, 2015. During the 2011 PVF National Open, Indonesia won the title for the women's side while Philippine Air Force won for the men's.

The 2015 PVF National Open is spearheaded by PVF President Edgardo "Boy" Cantada. Tournament director is PVF Executive Director Dr. Rustico Camangian.

WHO OWNS GILAS PILIPINAS ?

courtesy of smartgilas basketball.com

And the blame game begins.

After making it all the way to the finals, Gilas Pilipinas settles for second place in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship. While the silver medal finish is an achievement in itself, people cannot help but wonder what could have been had San Miguel players been allowed to join the team. More than anything else, a lot of people feel that the absence of San Miguel players hurt Gilas the most.

The sudden pull-out of San Miguel players from Gilas not only affected the composition of the team. The pull-out shows the ugly politics that prevails over every aspect of Filipino life. It shows that even in basketball, interest groups cannot come together for the good of the country.

Interestingly, there is no explanation, to this day, as to why San Miguel players pulled out from Gilas. Worth thinking about too is why Nickel Asia's offer to fund Gilas to give the management of the national team neutrality was not accepted.

The Filipino people deserve answers. After all, Gilas is the country's national basketball team. It is owned by the entire Filipino people. It is certainly not owned by a single person or group.

FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIPS : CHINA VERSUS THE PHILIPPINES

courtesy of nba.com
It's David against Goliath.

China, with its pair of talented 7-footers will go up against the Philippines with its pair of fast point guards. China easily beat Iran to arrange a title showdown with Gilas Pilipinas which beat Japan in the semifinals.

Without a doubt, China is favored to win the lone ticket to Rio Olympics. The way the team played against Iran shows its world - class skills. Gilas Pilipinas remains the underdog as it struggles in every game to win.

courtesy of philnews.com

In the championship game, the way Andray Blatche will play against Jianlian Yi will be crucial. Should the Gilas naturalized player hold his own against Yi, Gilas might have a chance of pulling an upset.

" Puso " will be put to a test as Gilas plays against a hostile home crowd. It will definitely take more than a lot of heart to achieve what many consider an impossibility. Gilas must show the greatness of the human spirit to defy the odds and carve out a winning moment that will forever remain in the hearts of millions of Filipinos.

A CALL TO BOYCOTT UAAP AND NCAA PART2

courtesy of pinoyfootball.com

Late last year, I called for a boycott of NCAA and UAAP as they sided with the obviously wrong LVPI. Nine months later, I renew the call for a boycott of these institutions.

What UAAP and NCAA did to PVF is not only illegal but morally corrupt as well. It is shocking and unforgivable that, to this day, UAAP and NCAA continue to inflict pain and damage to PVF by closely working with LVPI. To this day, not a single official from UAAP and NCAA has come to condemn what LVPI did and continues to do to PVF. And to add insult to injury, people have revealed that UAAP has imposed a ban on people identified with PVF. Referees and other tournament officials are not being hired unless they sign a document that they are members of LVPI.

The different schools and universities must do their part in putting a stop to the injustice. I guess these learning institutions must be reminded that they not only have to impart academic knowledge but proper values as well. The continued patronage of UAAP and NCAA teach students and fans to simply abandon the concept of right from wrong and to just pursue selfish interests.

Besides, what honor will schools get in winning championships from UAAP and NCAA if the men behind these tournaments are morally corrupt ? What honor do championship trophies of UAAP and NCAA carry when the very officials behind the tournaments continue to perpetuate injustice ?

A boycott is in order to teach UAAP and NCAA a lesson.

FIBA ASIA CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS AND FEARLESS FORECAST

courtesy of smartgilas.com

The cast is now complete. Below are the teams that made it to the second round of FIBA Asia Championship that is currently being held in Hunan, China.

                               Group E                                Group F

                                 Iran                                      China
                                 Palestine                             Qatar
                                 Philippines                          Korea
                                 Japan                                   Lebanon
                                 Hongkong                            Jordan
                                 India                                     Kazakhstan

Each team will now play against the teams not in its first-round group for a total of 3 games. For example, the Philippines will play against Iran, Japan and India in the second round of hostilities.

The top 4 teams in Groups E and F will then go to the knockout stages. After the knockout stage, the remaining teams will figure in another knockout stage to determine the two teams that will enter the finals.

Anything can still happen. Given the tournament format, Gilas Pilipinas has a good chance of making the final four. For the knockout stage, Korea appears as the most likely opponent of Gilas Pilipinas.

The stunning loss of Gilas to unheralded Palestine is really an eye-opener for the team and everyone else. The loss shows the vulnerability of Gilas and the need to take each opponent seriously. While Gilas massacred its next opponents, the lack of focus and discipline are just too evident in Gilas' games. The ugly incident where a Kuwaiti player ened with a bloody mouth speaks of the lack of concentration and focus of Gilas players. The lackluster performance of Andray Blatch so far is not helping the team too.

With China, Iran, Palestine and Korea showing great form, Gilas will be hard-pressed to make it to the finals. But with great focus and determination, the task on hand is attainable.

LABAN PILIPINAS !

SOMETHING FISHY NEAR THE BEACH

courtesy of en.wikipedia.org

About a month ago, a project involving beach volleyball made several controversies. For one, the project painted a top official of an NSA as a usurper of authority through the reports of a controversial writer. The project also involved legalities pertaining to its television coverage. Lastly, a shake-up of the set of officers of an NSA was expected to take place as reports of anomalies surfaced one after the other through the writings of the controversial writer.

Now, the reports may not be true at all. According to a reliable source, the project is the brainchild of someone else and not of the NSA official who was earlier tagged as the prime mover. The only thing right about the earlier reports is that the NSA is partaking of the profit. The amount involved is $10,000.00.

But what does not add up is why the tagged villain did not say a word when he was being accused of so many anomalies. Why he chose not to say his piece remains a mystery. Could it be that his intention to help the real prime mover of the project got the better of him ? That once this official opens his mouth, the NSA could easily release to media his "indiscretion" ? And that the other stakeholder in the NSA will only be too happy to show to everyone his "indiscretion".

The whole drama surrounding the project once again proves just how powerful media is in shaping how people think and look at events. With the abundance of writers who will do anything to serve their interests, such an occurrence is not surprising anymore. Sadly, the general public is at the mercy of these writers.

PVF PRESIDENT BOY CANTADA AND WHAT HE STANDS FOR

courtesy of spin.ph

Writing for Bandera has given me the opportunity to know a lot of people. And Philippine Volleyball Federation President Boy Cantada stands out among the sports personalities I have come to know.

With Sir Boy, my advocacy in writing has been reinforced, His brave effort to put a stop to the evil ways of Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission and Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas has given me further encouragement to write about the truth at all cost. With Sir Boy, I find a person who is willing to do everything to do what is right despite the great odds. These days, such a person is a rarity.

As Sir Boy celebrates his birthday, I pray that he continues to fight the good fight and not grow weary to effect significant change in Philippine sports management.

Happy birthday, Sir Boy !

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW : PVF SEC-GEN KARL CHAN

Karl Chan is the current Secretary-General of Philippine Volleyball Federation. He was the PVF president when the biggest support for Philippine volleyball came in. It was also under his presidency that Pilipinas Amihan and Bagwis were formed. Together with current PVF President Boy Cantada, Executive Director Otie Camangian and Deputy Sec-Gen Gerard Cantada, Karl Chan continues to help Philippine volleyball gain better support despite the emergence of a rival group.

Here is his exclusive interview.

1. How did you get involved with volleyball ?

I started playing volleyball in 1990. During that era, volleyball in Tacloban was mostly self taught and learned through experience. I was never very serious with volleyball since I was a Sepak Takraw varsity player during my high school days. In my first year of college in 1994, I shifted to volleyball and eventually became a varsity player in my 2nd year in U.P. – Tacloban College. Since I was also helping out in our family business, I didn’t continue playing but instead became the trainer of our women's teams for the remaining 2 years of my college years. I became head coach of my high school alma mater from 1998 - 2001. Volleyball was an exclusive sport in Tacloban back then but in 1997, a colleague and I organized the Tacloban City Volleyball Club. The group participated in numerous competitions. So most of my experience was centered in Tacloban City.

Since volleyball was doing well in Tacloban and with the foundations supposedly cemented, I retired from my volleyball activities in 2004 to concentrate fully on my business ventures. Until in 2006, I was urged by my peers to once again come back to volleyball life. What was the reason? First, in the 2 years I was absent, a gap in the level of development was created. The experienced players became hesitant and didn’t want to teach the new and aspiring players for fear of being out skilled in the near future. Second, the people within the organization had become nonfunctional and personal grudges surfaced due to monetary reasons which left bad impressions and created doubt from people who deals with the organization.

So in the same year we renamed the Tacloban City Volleyball Club to Volleyball Associationof Leyte – Tacloban City, elevating our status from club to association and in the process affiliated ourselves with the Philippine Volleyball Federation which was long overdue.

In 2007, I was invited by then PVF President Roger Banzuela to join the PVF Board. At first, the question I had was if I was ready and deserving to be part of the PVF Board. But as Mr. Banzuela said, the efforts I have done for my association merits such an opportunity and it would progress to an even bigger scope. So here I am now, being a member of the board, to vice president and eventually becoming acting president of the PVF has been a very fruitful journey which I think is worth reliving again because volleyball in our region has steadily improved and more people are enjoying the sport of volleyball.

2. What do you consider your biggest contribution to volleyball so far ?

My meager contributions are more on the grassroots and development of volleyball in our region especially in Tacloban City. The level of skills and competitions in my region has steadily grown in the past 9 years. I have been able to provide an avenue for kids to showcase a healthier and fun activity by introducing them to volleyball rather than immerse themselves in computer games and other vices. Through my volleyball program I have been able to provide the student athletes with the limitless opportunities to pursue their education further in the absence of scholarships and monetary incentives. The culture of sports has changed wherein other locales in the region has used my volleyball as a blueprint for their respective sports programs. The sense of loyalty, commitment, respect, pride and volunteerism has been instilled into the young minds of my student athletes with which they bring to even the colleges in Manila.

Nationally, I have done my share to impart and promote volleyball to the regions which is my primary responsibility. I am not as popular as other sports officials but it is of little importance. Seeing your program flourish and your visions met regardless of who gets the credit is satisfaction and justification enough that I have done something good. When I became acting president, the advocacy that I and my colleagues wanted to show is a PVF that is open and transparent, a PVF that will unify all the stakeholders as one and to be accountable to the Philippine volleyball community. In that short span, I believe we did that.

3. What do you think is the solution to the conflict in Philippine volleyball ?

The PVF sought to change the corrupt culture of sports. Reuniting the regions and showing that there is true progress for volleyball. The PVF did that. But unfortunately not all share the same insight. The only solution is for the people concerned to sit down, show their integrity and be united. Yet this did not happen as well. When people learn to start letting go of personal interests such as power and money and work and sacrifice for the greater good of volleyball, then that would solve everything.

4. What is needed for the quality of Philippine volleyball to improve ?

Let me clarify this, everyone thinks that volleyball in the country is already of high caliber but this is far from the truth. The reality is that the popularity of the sport is great but the quality and level of play is not that great. Because of TV and media, we are shown only the positive side but when we watch how other countries play then we are left to wonder when our country can be like them. Don’t get me wrong but the level of our players are high but not at the level we want to attain. The development of Philippine volleyball in reality comes from the grassroots level. Without the regional associations, who toil and sacrifice without anything in return, supplying the pipeline of players whom we see on TV then our level will be lower. So this is why the regional association are vital to our improvement.

There are many ways to improve our volleyball status. The main thing is to come up with events without considering something in return but the only return which is that volleyball was promoted. One such event is to bring more volleyball promotion to the different regions through clinics tours. In this manner, volleyball can be introduced to everyone who are considering taking up the sport and spread the good news of volleyball. Second, is to upgrade and adapt to the modern trends and technologies related to volleyball such as the application of volleyball statistics, new training methods and purchase of essential volleyball equipment. Third, establish more international exposures for our teams to gain more experience and get a feel of how the international game is. This DOES NOT mean going out of the country. We can bring in international teams instead. This is most evident with what we did for the Shakeys Girls League. League brought in the Victoria team from Australia and New Zealand Natioal Youth Girls teams. Through that experience our players are able to get a glimpse of how the game is played in other countries which will aid in their learning. For now I will just cite this 3 ways but there are more.

5. What do you want to happen in Philippine volleyball ?

My wish for Philippine volleyball is to have a TRUE resurgence. Not the resurgence of popularity but a resurgence in the quality of our sport. That all the TRUE volleyball personalities and entities become one in making the sports grander than any other. To one day see that integrity for the sport rises above and becomes the main reason for their sacrifice rather than personal and conflicting interests for power and money.

ONE-ON-ONE WITH BAGWIS AND PHILIPPINE AIRFORCE TEAM CAPTAIN JESSIE LOPEZ

After a long wait, sa wakas, may malaking company na sumuporta sa volleyball. Ang nakakalungkot, nagkaroon pa ng malaking gulo. Nakaka-down ng morale.

Kailangan kasi may manindigan.

THE MEN BEHIND LVPI

courtesy of pba-online.net

The "Palou Incident" tells a lot about the men behind Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas (LVPI).

1. The men of LVPI are bereft of moral values. Misrepresentation is a criminal act. It is certainly not to be expected from a secretary-general of an NSA. It is simply mind-boggling why a person like Ricky Palou will commit such an act. Worse, Romasanta and his board simply resort to ways to avoid  the dire consequences of Palou's action. Romasanta and his men choose to miss out on a great opportunity to show their moral ascendancy as they choose to circumvent the law on misrepresentation.

2. LVPI men easily resort to deception and lies to achieve their goals. Much like what LVPI did to dislodge PVF as the NSA for volleyball, Palou deceived FIVB and AVC to get what he wanted.

3. LVPI men are all in on the dastardly act of each and everyone in the organization. It is so shocking that no one from LVPI sees the need to punish Palou for what he did.

4. Money binds the men of LVPI. According to reports, Romasanta and his board members agreed not to punish Palou provide that the secretary-general shares the profit of his beach volleyball tournament with LVPI. Everything is taken to be fine as long as everyone gets a share of the profit.

Truly, it is offensive to see and realize that we have sports leaders that can be considered a disgrace to society. And what is more revolting is that we allow these scums of the earth to rule over an important part of our lives. What have we become as a nation and people ?

TEXT MESSAGES FROM LVPI SEC-GEN RICKY PALOU

courtesy of pba-online.net

Below are the text messages I received from LVPI Sec-Gen Ricky Palou dated September 2-3, 2015 :

Me : Good evening sir. Thank you sir.

Palou : Yes, all the imports have their ITC already. We have started registering them beginning with Petron imports who are joining AWCC in Vietnam. Upon payment with their clubs, NF's, ITC will be good for release in time for PSL ang arrival of bulk imports.

Me : So what is the drama that Manicad is referring to ? It is in LVPI daw po. Also sir, how come LVPI has yet to submit its papers to PSC ? Salamat po.

Palou : I am not aware of any drama. Who is Manicad and can I know who this is also ? Who is this ?

Me : This is Eric po of Bandera.

Palou : Eric who ?

Me : Eric Dimzon po. The one who is asking po for an interview with you.

Palou : Weren't you the one who has been hitting me and LVPI in the press and social media ?

Me : What do you mean po na hitting you ?

Palou : Writing to discredit me and LVPI.

Me : I have always written the truth po. And in fact, I have asked for an interview to get your side po.

Palou : You don't know the truth, Eric. And you have been very unfair to me and LVPI. So keep it that way. You wanting our side is months too late.

Me : What is the truth then, sir ?

Palou : Seems you are the only one who doesn't know the truth, Eric. Let's leave it at that. Hope you won't bother me anymore.

Eric : If you really want the truth out, grant me that interview.

Palou : No, not after what you have done. Sorry.

Me : Ok po. Salamat pa rin po.
