1. How would you describe your stint as Sta Lucia coach ?
It was a truly wonderful experience. A lot of things happened in the three years that I was the coach of Sta. Lucia. There were highs and lows. Marami ding isyu at intriga ang dumating. But the things that happened taught me lessons that made me a better person and coach.
2. What do you consider your greatest achievement in the PBA ?
As a coach, yung nakita kong gumaling yung mga players ko at nanalo ng mga awards sa PBA ang tinuturing kong greatest achievement ko. On a more personal level, winning the All-Filipinon crown for Sta. Lucia during my rookie year as a coach and winning the 2008 Coach of the Year are the things that I consider memorable in my career.
3. Who were the players you found great to coach ? Sinu-sino naman po ang matitigas ang ulo ?
I had the great opportunity to coach a lot of good players. Nariyan sina Ryan ( Reyes), Kelly (Williams), Bitoy (Omolon), Denok (Miranda) at Joseph (Yeo). Nitong huling conference, nariyan sina Pong (Escobal), Ogie (Menor), Jamal (Aljamal), Josh (Uzbiztondo) at Chris (Ross) na lahat gusto matuto at binibigay ang best nila sa bawat laro. Sa mga matitigas ang ulo, wala naman akong na-encounter na sobrang tigas. Yung iba lang may ego na kailangang intindihin. Alam ko na maganda hangarin nila sa team pero minsan, sa sobrang paghahangad na mapaganda ang laro, lumilihis sila sa napagkasunduang takbo ng team.
4. You were able to give Sta. Lucia a championship in your rookie year as coach. May hinanakit po ba kayo sa nangyaring tila pagpapabaya sa inyo at sa buong team nitong nakaraang conference ?
Hinanakit, wala. Nalungkot lang ako sa sinapit ng team pero may valid reason naman ang lahat nang nangyari. Kinailangan lang namin intindihin at tanggapin dahil maging management ay walang control sa nangyari. We were in a situation where all of us had to do what was best for the team and the company as a whole.
5. During your last season, did you feel you were left in the dark as to where the team was headed ?
Not at all. I knew that the team had financial issues and management was forced to find a solution to solve the crisis.
6. Ano para sa inyo ang pinakamasakit sa pagkawala ng Sta Lucia sa PBA ?
Ang pinakamalungkot ay ang mawalan ako ng pangalawang pamilya dahil pamilya turing ko sa Sta. Lucia team. Sta Lucia is where I spent half of my waking hours for the past five years. It is where I first played. When I came to Manila, Sta. Lucia was my first PBA team and the first to trust me as head coach. I owe Sta. Lucia a lot and seeing it leave the PBA is hard to accept.
7. Ano naman po ang pinakamasayang alaala ninyo sa team ?
Walang tatalo sa saya sa pagkapanalo ng championship ng All-Filipino conference. Plus a lot of other wonderful moments na di ko na mabilang sa daliri ko. Being a part of Sta. Lucia is something I will always cherish.
8. Saan na po patungo si Coach Boyet ngayon?
Sa ngayon, di ko pa alam. I am weighing my options. Magiging nurse na lang ba ako or will I stay in basketball ? Perhaps, in the next few days, something will come up. Wala pang offers eh hahaha. In the meantime, I will take the time to enjoy the company of my wife and two daughters. Dakilang tatay, tutor at driver muna ako.
9.Ano po nais ninyong iparating sa mga naging tagahanga ninyo at ng buong team ?
Sa mga fans, maraming salamat sa inyong suporta. It was a great ride all because of your tremendous support. To Sta. Lucia and Boss Buddy, thank you for giving me the opportunity to play and coach. To my players, maraming-maraming salamat sa trust and respect. Keep up the good work and remember that I am still watching over you. Good luck sa inyong mga careers. Naniniwala ako na magtatagumpay kayong lahat. Just keep working hard. To my coaching staff, thank you for your trust and confidence in me. I would not have received recognition as a coach without your support. I will never forget you guys. I hope that I will find ways to repay all of you for your support. To my family, thank you for the love. Di ko maaabot ang aking naabot kung wala ang inyong pagmamahal.

yea, alam ko na consultant na siya ng u.p. di ko na lang sinulat upon his request. una niyang sinabi sa akin na kinuha siya ni castro to be a consultant of the team. in fact, i told him that u.p. will do well if he is the head coach and not castro.
