GINEBRA : THE HERO LOSES AT FIRST

Ginebra just lost to Alaska at the start of the quarterfinal stage. The game became more exciting towards the end where Ginebra fought tooth and nail against Alaska.
Despite the loss, I remain hopeful that the Gin Kings will be able to bounce back from defeat. It is interesting to note that not a single local player from Ginebra played a good game. There were players who had brief moments like Ronald Tubid but no one in particular had game long brilliance. MVP's Willie Miller, Eric Menk and Jayjay Helterbrand all played under par. Yet, Ginebra had a chance to pull off the victory. If not for some crucial turnovers, Ginebra could have snatched the victory from the Alaska Aces.
If the players of Ginebra work as a unit next time around, I am sure that the team will earn a big victory. If players like Mark Caguioa, Willie Miller, Jayjay Helterbrand and Eric Menk will only play their usual game and help their hardworking import, there won't be a reason why Ginebra cannot come back to level the series.
Like millions of its fans, I am excited to see Ginebra play its usual game. I am sure the team's usual game is enough to give the team and fans something to be happy about.

  1. There's just so much change in the line-up/imports that is it highly unlikely that the Kings would actually win the tournament. Although I'm not counting them out totally
