REJOINDER ON LA SALLE AND PNG : WHY THE SUDDEN PULL-OUT ?

courtesy of sports.inquirer.net

I have decided to post another write-up to put to rest the issue on La Salle's decision not to participate in the Philippine National Games.

As far as I am concerned, the main issue really is why La Salle decided not to join PNG. Coach Ramil of DLSU, in his interview with spin.ph, said that " nag-start na kasi ang klase sa La Salle tsaka wala sa calendar ng La Salle ang PNG. " La Salle certainly has the right not to join the PNG. No one can force La Salle to include PNG in its calendar of events. And certainly no one can force its players to miss their first week of classes to play in PNG.

We all so desperately want the Bomberinas to succeed and make the country proud. But we as a people are not even conscious of what we can do to help the team achieve the impossible. Worse, some of us refuse to extend help. And this says so much about us as a people.

  1. Cant you understand? La Salle is composed of college students, meaning student-atheletes sila. They shouldnt be called maramot if they have valid reasons not to join. Ikaw na nagsabing karapatan nila yun. They can always have tune up games with the squad pero pag sumali kasi sa ournament, kailangang pagbuhusan ng panahon. The fans wouldnt like that as well. S the best thing to do is to not join at all.

If you really want the Bomberinas to improve, talk to the POC or PSC to invest sa proper training.

Sa DLSU-M other than being an athlete, priority ng mga bata ang academics nila. Kaya nga some of them are even Dean's Lister. "other than athletes, they are also students" yan parati ang binabanggit ng OSD at ng coaching staff. And it's not the fault of the team if their school calendar starts earlier than other universities, that's how it has been for the longest time.

  4. I'll agree for your concerns pertaining to Bomberinas, missing DLSU in this particular league is not really an important issue. I am not in the country to see the hype of the people on women's volleyball,DLSU being the UAAP champion cannot escape criticism even they have a legitimate reason not to participate in this league. Don't you think there are other team(s) as good as or better than DLSU?

Opinion mo yan. Opinion ko to.

  7. First of all, they are student-athletes. Students first before athletes!

  9. Nung una sabi mo natatakot silang matalo ng Bomberinas. Ngayon sinasabi mo na magaling ang Lasalle. Just because Lasalle didn't join doesn't mean they do not want to help or they're being "maramot" as you wanted to imply.

  10. and ofcourse you could have said this first before coming up with an insane reason that Lasalle is afraid to lose to the national team. The main issue is not Lasalle. It's you. If you've been following them for a long time you would know that they've not been joining any preseason events now for the past few years, save the Unigames and PVC Competition in 2011 where they beat the then National team. If you're still surprised that Lasalle didn't join, it really is your problem.
