I has the opportunity to attend CCF Caloocan a few years back. I thought of how caring CCF was to accommodate those living in Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Bulacan. But after a few years, CCF Caloocan moved to a new venue. It moved to a new building in Bagong Barrio. But only after a year or so, CCF Caloocan stopped its operations.
It turned out that CCF did not intentionally set-up a satellite branch in Caloocan to serve the people living and working up north of Metro Manila. I found out that CCF established a branch in Caloocan to collect on a debt of an individual. Since the person did not have money to pay off his debt to a CCF member, his building space was used by CCF to settle his debt. CCF used the building space for its own purposes with the rent used to offset the individual's debt.
When the debt was fully paid, CCF Caloocan had nowhere to go. Hence, it moved to Bagong Barrio. But it was clear that CCF Caloocan was not raking in money for the church. Hence, after a few months, CCF decide to stop its Caloocan operations.
Despite the billion peso fund of CCF, it decided to close down its Caloocan branch since it was a losing proposition financially. As I have always maintained, CCF conducts its operation in a highly business-like manner. The need to serve the spiritual needs of poor individuals comes second to the financial gain that can be derived from the church's operations. I would dare say that CCF Caloocan would still be around if it was making money for the church. Sadly, such was not the case.
I am a CCF church-goer. I tried several satellite churches like Alabang, sucat, makati, pasig and at main. This church Never ask money from its member or from not member that are attending there. Tithes and offering boxes are placed everywhere and the people are voluntarily giving their tithes and offerings. I may not know if the story you post here is true or just a second hand or third hand story but from my experiencing in going to this church and serving God through this church they never forced their member/not member church goer to give money. As far as i know, CCF as a church do not lend money to its member. It is between the member where the lending is happening.
ReplyDeleteI'm not writing this to protect or defend CCF most of all not also to condemn you but to clear things out for both the people that are going to this church and for those who are interested to go. Biblical church is not a building or an organization. It is the assembly of Christian (People who believed and received Jesus as their Lord and Savior) to glorify God through praise and worship. May God Bless all the readers.
Dear Sherwin,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment.
The question remains why CFF Caloocan had to stop serving the spritual needs of those living in Caloocan, Malabon, Valenzuela and Bulacan. Please try to find out the real reason. Then get back to me and I will gladly post what you have found out.
Thanks and God bless.
