But the other hero for Japan was its goalkeeper. Kawasima played superbly to deny Australia several goals. Japan survived several attempts of Australia due to the outstanding plays of Kawashima.
Australia looked on its way to victory with its aggressive plays and excellent passing. Japan hardly had clear kicks to the goal. In fact, Australia had more attempts than Japan. But Lee suddenly found himself open to score the only goal of the match.
Personally, I am happy that Japan won the Asian Cup. Japan played with great character throughout the tournament and truly deserved to win. Congratulations, Blue Samurai !
