While all the other female contestants in American Idol chose loud and flashy songs, Thia Megia chose to do a subdued yet felt rendition of Irene Cara's hit Out Here On My Own. Thia took a great risk by standing still, with only a beam of light shining on her. She bravely relied solely on her voice to captivate the audience. And captivate the audience she did. Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were moved and impressed with her performance. But will she get the votes ? I have the funny feeling that Thia might just make it to the top ten with lots to spare.
