The most recent retreat of CCF enticed a thousand participants. Each participant paid Php 3900.00 for the 3-day retreat. All in all, CCF collected Php 3.9 M from the participants alone.
While I consider organizing a retreat as a noble endeavor, there were several things that CCF did which seem so inappropriate. First, if I am not mistaken, the owner of the resort where the retreat was held is a CCF member. I can't help but think that the retreat was conducted to generate funds for CCF and the resort owner. Second, the substantial amount of money raked in by CCF from the registration of the participants is shocking to the point of shamelessness. Third, people who were tapped to help out with the retreat were charged, I think, with the same registration fee as the participants. I do know for a fact that the facilitators for the retreat spent late nights for training. I just think it is shameless of CCF to charge these facilitators of fees when they are in fact rendering their services to ensure that the retreat would be a success. Lastly, more than anything else, the retreat was a form of recruitment for CCF. More members mean bigger tithes and funds which CCF will have at its disposal. The propagation of the false belief that faith alone saves in the retreat is an indication that CCF does not truly study the bible to come up with biblically-sound doctrines and beliefs.
I pray that people will realize what CCF truly does. People must open their eyes to see what CCF is really up to.
It would be hard to judge the hearts of those from CCF. Though I'm hoping that their collections are appropriate and valid.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the "faith alone saves" statement you posted above, is that exactly what CCF teaches? Because if that is what they exactly teach, I would rather move a bit to the teaching that (Christ's) grace alone saves, and then faith alone justifies.
By the way, I am not a member of CCF, nor planning to be one. I'm not even that much of a fan of megachurches.
dear anonymous,
ReplyDeletethank you for your comments.
i just see something sinister in a church that builds a 3B peso building. instead of directing its resources to helping poor people, ccf chooses to build an expensive and extravagant church building.

Praise God for CCF! I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in one of CCF's retreats. I pray that more people are led to Christ through CCF.
ReplyDeleteDear efd,
ReplyDeletePlease do expound on the "Study the Bible." I've been to many churches, and I know none are perfect, but who are we to judge. My intention is not to defend, but to discover. I may learn from you and you from me. As for all of us who are seekers, I think this could be healthy.
Matthew 12:36 Moreover, I tell you this: on the Day of Judgment people will have to give account for every careless word they have spoken;
Shalom
dear anonymous,
ReplyDeletethank you for reading my blog.
i have expounded on the many false beliefs of ccf in my previous blogs. please read them and feel free to give your comments.
God bless.
1. i think u can ask for a financial report of the recent retreat and i'm sure they'd be glad to assist u so as to remove any suspicion.
ReplyDelete2. the owner of the resort is not a CCF member but his spouse is. u know, they differ when it comes to their belief w/c explains the reason for not giving the B1G retreat a big discount although i know the management did tried their best to give us good discount. if the place is really owned by a CCF member, the pagan images should have been taken off the place.
3.We have more than 200 volunteers in the recent retreat, now u tell me if its possible for CCF to pay for them or atleast subsidize a portion especially for an expesive place like Chateau Royale. These volunteers love the Lord and they offered their service without any conditions.
But u know what, the amount did not hinder them from attending but instead that paved the way for them to trust God for the amount and it also opened the way for others to be generous by way of sponsoring people to attend the retreat.
that's for the registration fee and the building project.
by the way, in the Bible, it was Judas who condemned the extravagant offering for God, the woman's act of breaking of a luxurious perfume and pouring on of it to Jesus' feet. He even calls it a 'waste of money' instead of 'giving them to the poor.'
Also, when David was preparing to build the temple, and when offered a freebie property, he said, "i will not offer anything that costs me nothing." So he paid an big amount because its for the Lord.
4. We are saved by grace thru faith (Eph. 2:8,9; John 3:16; romans 10:13)
Faith is enough to save us without works (Rom.4:5; Titus 3:5,6)
We are children of God by faith (Gal.3:26; John 1:12)
the Bible teaching that we can be saved and be assured of eternal life by faith is an overwhelming and major teaching of the Bible (Romans 10:9-13; 1 John 5:9-13)

i am pleased that you are brave enough to admit that the retreat was used to generate funds for the 3B church building. but why did ccf chose to hold the retreat in such an expensive place which you claim as such ? as a result, the volunteers were forced to pay their way to the retreat. had the retreat been somewhere cheaper, then the volunteers could have been given free pass. your example of david to me is very dangerous. it encourages members of ccf to give huge amounts of money for a church building. does God require a temple in the present dispensation ?
i have answered item 4 in my previous posts. james 2:24 plainly says that we are not saved by faith alone. ephesians 2:8-9 says that we are saved from sin and not from judgement. ask ccf to explain to you the verses clearly and take the time to research.

brother in Christ,
ReplyDeletethe building project is not for the sake of building lang. It will be used as a training center for missionaries and Christians.
dear anonymous,

the question remains as to why ccf decided to build a 3.0 B building. i do know for a fact that members are to this day trying hard to give their pledges just to erect the building. what ccf asks from its members are money that the members do not have on hand. i just think it is just to much to ask from ccf members.
about being a center of christian teaching, how can ccf teach about the truth when it sees tithing as a valid teaching for today's christians ? how can ccf teach the truth when it teaches that faith alone saves and that men are not judged according to the work that they do in their lives ?

I'm the one who commented on the building project that will be used as training center... In Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." This means that we are save by grace through faith in Christ. It is through accepting Jesus in our lives that will save us. But the bible is also clear in James that faith without works is dead. Thus CCF teaches that faith= salvation resulting to good works. It is the power of the Holy Spirit in a Christian that will move him to love others. Now, the motivation to love others and God is not to earn salvation but to thank God for the salvation that He offered. I've been with CCF for 2 years now and I am growing to be more Christlike in this church. I am sad bakit may bitterness ka and may galit ka sa leadership ng CCF.=(

i am wary of the leaders of ccf because a year ago, a pastor hunted me down for exposing the leaders of cff with regards to their visit to malacanang with joel rosenberg. sabi nila pagdarasal lang daw nila yung presidente. yun pala they were lobbying for israel. i even have the video that confirms that they went to malacanang to have the philippines change its vote on a u.n. resolution. tanungin mo sila kung totoo o hindo sinasabi ko.
as far as ephesians 2:8-9 are concerned, please read my latest post.
God bless.
