HOW DO CCF MEMBERS FIND AND EXPERIENCE GOD ?

I am shocked to know that CCF has organized a trip to the Holy Land with more than 160 of its members participating. A trip to the holy land costs around USD 2,500.00 per person. With 160 people going, the total amount for the whole CCF group comes to USD 400,000.00 or PhP 1.72 M.

A participant claims that he experienced God during the trip. Seeing the places where Jesus walked made him closer to God. The sites, the CCF member claims, made him realize the greatness of God. Interestingly, what the CCF member claims are more of his personal feelings. Nowhere in the bible does it say that people can find God in places or relics.

While it is not my intention to dictate upon CCF members how they should spend their money, wouldn't it have been much better for them to have spent the money in helping others instead ? Wouldn't it have been more Christian to have spent the USD 400,000.00 in feeding the poor ? Wouldn't it have been better to have spent the money on the sick or dying ? Wouldn't it have been more fulfilling to have spent the money on those who are neglected and uncared for ? Wouldn't helping others truly enable them to experience God ?

1 John 3 : 17-18
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion, how can God's love be in that person ? Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other ; let us show the truth by our actions.

Mathhew 25 : 40
And the King will say, " I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me ! "

  1. That's the number one reason why I'm struggling with understanding any kind of religion. Most of them don't practice what they preach. Another example is: If one person in a society commits a sin, a lot of moralists are quick to criticize him/her, like in the example of Willie Revillame. Revillame is clearly wrong, but do the people who "threw stones" at him even remember the story of Christ and the prostitute? If they are true Christians, they must simply keep silent and pray for Revillame. Justice will be served if they pray hard for it. Justice is not in their hands; it's in God's. And then there's the law. Why not let the law punish Revillame? That's what is taught in schools and churches, but do they even apply it?
